
UNO Defeats South Dakota State in Home Dual

The women's swimming and diving team defeated South Dakota State (109-82) Sunday afternoon at the HPER pool in their first home dual.
UNO placed first in eight out of 13 events with four Mavericks recording season best times.
"We are training a lot harder this year," said senior captain Stacy Crook. "We are swimming really well considering it's only the beginning of the season."
Freshman Bridget Gentleman placed first in the 100 freestyle finishing with a season's best time of :59.72. Junior Martina Zamecnik swam her best time in the 200 butterfly (2:16.12).
In the 500 freestyle, senior Amy Percosky (5:38.59) and freshman Tammy Herbst (6:17.56) both improved their times.
The Mavericks are off next week but head to Brookings, S.D. on Friday, Nov. 21 to take on South Dakota State and then compete in the Jackrabbit Invite on Nov. 22.
