Mavericks Defeat UNK in Dual

Kearney, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's swimming and diving team defeated the Aqualopers of Nebraska-Kearney, 126-95, Friday night.

UNO placed first in 10 out of 16 events and improve their dual record to 6-2.

The Maverick 200-yard medley relay team finished on top with a time of 1:57.86 (Sarah Clark, Stacy Crook, Bridget Gentleman, Megan Jamieson).

Other performances that guided the Mavericks were first place finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle (Beth Hempleman), 200-yard freestyle (Veronica Barna), 100-yard backstroke (Martina Zamecnik) and the 200-yard butterfly (Sarah Donley).

UNO has completed their schedule for 2003 and jumps back in the pool on Jan. 18, 2004 against Nebraska-Kearney. On Jan. 24, they take on Nebraska in Lincoln.
