Stock Fires 73, Leads Mavs Into 1st

LINCOLN, NEB. -- Amanda Stock's even-par 73 Sunday led the Mavericks into first place after the first round of the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational Golf Tournament at Pioneers Golf Club. The final round of the 36-hole meet will be Monday.
The Maverick Red team shot a 318 total and the Maverick Black team is second with a 336 after the first round on the 5,806-yard layout.
The other Red team scores included Tanis Hastmann 77; Ashley Sipe 83; Carly Froehlich 85 and Sara Wolfe 86.
Mandy Houtz, who fired an eagle two, dropping a 130-yard iron shot on a par four hole en route to an 80, led the Black team. The other scores on the Black team included Allyson Yung 84; Lindsay Newton 85; Amber Dodge 87, and Kim Kuchar 90.
