Hastmann, Stock, Mavericks All Finish First

LINCOLN, NEB. -- Tanis Hastmann and Amanda Stock tied for first at 150 to lead the Mavericks to the team title in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational Monday at Highlands Golf Course. Hastmann shot a 73 Monday and Stock a 77 on the par-72, 5,813-yard layout.
The Mavs swept the top four places in the meet as Ashley Sipe finished third and Mandy Houtz fourth.
The Maverick Red team captured the championship with a 308 Monday for a 626 total, while the Maverick Black team finished second with a 337 for a 673 total. Wayne State was third and Rockhurst fourth in the meet. The first round was played at Pioneers Golf Course on Sunday.
The Maverick Red scores: Hastmann 77-73--150; Stock 73-77--150;Ashley Sipe, third with 83-77--160 total; Carly Froehlich 85-82--167, and Sara Wolfe 86-81--167.
Maverick Black team scores: Mandy Houtz, fourth, 80-84--164; Allyson Yung 84-83--167; Lindsay Newton 85-82--167; Amber Dodge 87-88--175, and Kim Kuchar 90-88--178.
The Mavericks will conclude the fall season this weekend when they try to defend their title in the North Central Conference tournament. The 54-hole meet will be held at the Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn Saturday and Sunday and will conclude on Monday, Oct. 11 at Shadow Ridge Country Club.
