Mavs Swim to Dual Victory

OMAHA, Neb.--The UNO swimming and diving team defeated South Dakota 134.5 to 94.5 in dual action Friday evening in the HPER Pool. With numerous athletes competing in exhibition status, UNO was able to defeat the Coyotes by 40 points.
The Mavericks finished first in 10 out of 13 events, with Martina Zamecnik and Jamie Grogan each winning two events to help pace 2-0 UNO. Zamecnik won both the 200-yard butterfly(2:19.48) and the 200-yard individual medley(2:14.69), While Grogan took both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
The evening was highlighted by UNO's Megan Jamieson defeating conference champion Audrey Donley, with a time of 17:59.44, to Donley's 18:05.83.
UNO will hit the road tomorrow as they will take part in the Jackrabbit Invite in Brookings, S.D. hosted by South Dakota State. Next home meet for UNO will be the Mutual of Omaha Invite held Friday Dec. 3rd and Saturday Dec. 4th in the HPER Pool.
