Mavs Down Nebraska-Kearney in Dual

HASTINGS, NEB. -- Courtney Petersen and Jessica Hessel each won two events Friday to lead the Mavericks to a 169-76 dual meet victory over Nebraska-Kearney. In all, the Mavs won nine swimming events and one diving event.

Petersen captured the 50-yard freestyle event with a time of 25.54 seconds and the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 18:02.14.

Hessel won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:17.45 and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:09.41.

UNO's other event winners included Ashley Renshaw, with a time of 200.98 in the 200-yard freestyle; Bridgette Schram, 55.83 in the 100-yard freestyle; Chelsea Duimstra, 1:03.2 in the 100-yard backstroke; Adrienne Losee, 1:12.33 in the 100-yard backstroke; Martina Zamecnik, 2:28.85 in the 200-yard backstroke; Jamie Grogan, with a score of 437.84 in the one-meter diving, and the 200-yard medley relay team of Sarah Clark, Milly Connolly, Katie Liebmann and Martina Zamecnik with a time of 1:53.35.
