Mavs Defeat Coyotes in Dual

VERMILLION, S.D.---The University of Omaha swimming and diving team continued its dual dominance as it defeated University of South Dakota 138-99 at the DakotaDome Friday evening. The Mavericks used nine first-place finishes to down USD.
The Mavs swept the relay events taking the 200-yard medley(Courtney Petersen, Molly Connolly, Adrienne Losee, Bridgette Schram) with a time of 2:05.26, and the 400-yard freestyle (Jessica Hessel, Ashley Renshaw, Lisa Wemhoff, Ashley Barna)clocked at 4:06.42.
Connolly a senior from Omaha, set a DakotaDome pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.74; taking down the previous time of 1:14.94.
Jamie Grogan and Chrissy Grogan both finished first and third respectively in the one and three meter diving events to pace UNO.
Other event winners included Lisa Wemhoff with a time of 2:14.47 in the 200-yard freestyle; Jessica Hessel with a time of 28.00 in the 50-yard freestyle; Ashley Renshaw 5:13.05 in the 400-yard medley; Courtney Petersen, 1:01.78 in the 100-yard freestyle.
The Mavericks are a perfect 4-0 in its duals this season. UNO will take off a month from competition and will resume in Ames, Iowa Sat. January 15 as they will face Iowa State.
