
Monger Leads Mavs at USD Invite

Laverne Monger paced the Mavericks in the first meet of the season, grabbing the individual titles in the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash at the USD Preseason Invitational on Thursday.
Monger won the 60 meter preliminary and the final with a time of 7.80. She finished the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.45, which is a national provisional qualifying mark.
The Mavericks also captured two other titles in the triple jump and the distance medley. Taira Baker won the triple jump with a leap of 37-1 3/4. The medley team of Sarah Zeisler, Magda Orzylowski, Angela Kampschnieder and Molly Miller won with a time of 12:43.25.
In all, Nebraska-Omaha had nine top three finishes on the evening.
