Mavs Fall to Iowa State in Home Finale

OMAHA -- Iowa State won 11 of 14 events Friday night to score a 169-91 victory in the final home match of the season for the Mavericks at the HPER Pool.
The Cyclones improved to 6-4, while the University of Nebraska at Omaha fell to 10-5 prior to competing in the North Central Conference championships Feb. 18-21 in Grand Forks, N.D.
UNO posted wins in the 8x50 yard freestyle relay and by freshman Vanessa Fleguel in the 150-yard backstroke in addition to junior Jamie Grogan's one-meter diving victory.
Fleguel won the 150-yard backstroke in a time of 1:39.91. The Mavericks followed that with a victory in the 8x50 yard freestyle relay. The team of Veronica Barna, Sarah Clark, Stacy Crook and Amy Percosky won with a time of 3:22.14. The Mavs captured the top three spots in the relay. Earlier, Maverick Jamie Grogan won the one-meter diving competition with a score of 274.88.
Four Maverick seniors made their final home appearance: Percosky, Crook, Shannon Meyer and Jennifer Feyerherm.
