Mavs Head East for NCAA Championships

Tim Hendricks, the 2004 NCC Indoor Track and Field Co-Coach of the Year, will take a group of eight athletes to the NCAA II National Championships March 12-13 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The Mavericks are coming off a third place finish at the North Central Conference Indoor Championships. Sarah Menghini and Kalyn Byers captured individual titles at the conference meet, heading a list of the eight Mavericks. Menghini won the NCC 400-meters while Byers captured the high jump title. Menghini will join Laura Gass, Amanda Mahan, Ashley Freeman and Laverne Monger (alternate) in the 4x400 relay. Foluso Makinde (long jump) and Mandy Neneman (60-meter hurdles) also qualified with provisional marks.
