Hastmann, Mavs Post Tourney Wins

WINONA, MINN. -- Junior Tanis Hastmann and the Mavericks each posted their second straight tournament victories Saturday. Hastmann fired a second-round 75 and the Mavericks had five players finish in the top nine in running away with the Best Western Riverport Invitational title.
UNO's 326 Saturday round for a 643 total over the 36-hole meet was 39 shots better than runner-up South Dakota State. Hastmann's three-over par 75 Saturday on the 5,861-yard Cedar Valley Golf Course, to go with Friday's 77, was nine shots better than runner-up Laura Sheelander of Concordia-St. Paul, who shot 79-82--161.
Stephanie Oster was third with an 80-82--162; Sandy Stratte (79-87) and Katie Etter (81-85) tied for sixth at 166, and Ashley Sipe shot 84-84--168 to finish ninth. Sophomore Amanda Stock, who was competing as an individual, withdrew because of a pulled muscle after tying for the first-round lead with a 77 on Friday.
The Mavericks won last week at the Ironwood Classic in Omaha, with Hastmann the medalist. This was Hastmann's third win in her last four tournaments, dating back to last October. In all of 2003-04, she has finished among the top seven in 9 of 10 tournaments.
