Sports Information Publications Earn 6 Top Awards

Media guides written and produced by the UNO Sports Information Department have earned six first-place awards in contests sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The six first-place awards is the most ever in any one year by the department.
The school's volleball, soccer, wrestling and softball guides all were judged best in the nation among college division schools, which inlcude NCAA Division II and NAIA programs. In addition, the soccer and wrestling covers also were named best in the nation.
The women's basketball media guide earned a third-place finish and the men's basketball guide earned a seventh-place award.
Steve Field, assistant sports information director, designed all six of the 2003-04 media guides honored and also was the primary writer/editor for the volleyball media guide.
Jeremy Wangler, student assistant, was the writer/editor for the soccer guide and the writer for the softball guide. Jim Bayly, volunteer wrestling assistant, served as writer and Field as the editor for the wrestling media guide.
