Mavs 9 Back After First Round at Grand Valley Meet

GRAND VALLEY, MICH. -- Tanis Hastmann and Amanda Stock each shot first-round 80s Monday to lead the Mavericks in the Grand Valley State Lake Invitational. UNO trails host Grand Valley State by nine shots and is in sixth place entering Tuesday's final 18 holes of the tournament.
Kim Kuchar shot an 82, Ashley Sipe an 85 and Sara Wolfe and Lindsay Newton each shot 90 to give UNO a 327 total after the first round.
Host Grand Valley State leads the meet with a 318, followed by Ferris State and Oakland, Mich., University at 321; Southern Indiana at 325 and Northern Kentucky at 326.
