Mav Teams Lead After 1st Round

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Kate O'Dea took the individual lead with a 77 and both Maverick teams surged to the head of the pack after one round of the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational Sunday at Pioneers Golf Course. Monday's play will begin at 10:15 a.m. for the Black team and at 10:45 a.m. for the Red team at Highlands Golf Course.
The Mavericks fired a first-round 321 and lead the Maverick Black team by 13 shots entering Monday's final round of the 36-hole tournament. Truman State is third with a 336 total.
Amanda Stock, with the Red team, shot a 78 to tie for second with Carly Froehlich of the Maverick Black team. Allyson Yung of the Black team is fourth with an 81.
The Red team scores:
Kate O'Dea, 77; Amanda Stock 78; Mandy Houtz 82; Lindsay Newton 85 and Lynn Mulligan 84.
The Black Team scores:
Carly Froehlich 78; Allyson Yung 81; Sara Wolfe 86, and Amber Dodge 89.
