Mavericks Fall to Huskers 195-98

LINCOLN, Neb.-- Senior Courtney Petersen won two events, but it wasn't enough as the Mavericks fell to the Huskers 195-98 during the meet Friday night in Lincoln.
In addition to Petersen's victory in the 200 yard backstroke(2:11.37), the Mavericks were able to sweep through the 400 yard individual medley,led by Petersen(4:46.85). Freshman Lindsey Kline took second(4:50.46), while sophomore Megan Guthmiller took third(5:01.18).
In other action, the Mavericks pulled out a sweep in the 200 yard free relay(junior Elizabeth Gregory,freshman Katey Howarter,sophomore Lindsey Miletta and senior Ashley Renshaw took the top spot in a time of 1:42.99
The Mavericks, who fell to 0-1 on the season, still have yet to beat the Huskers(2-0)now have a 10-0 lifetime record over the Mavericks.
UNO will return to action next Friday night, when the team travels to Vermillion, S.D, for a match with North Central Conference foe South Dakota. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
