UNO Leads After Day One at Mutual of Omaha Invite

Omaha, Neb. - The UNO Swimming and Diving team placed in every event, including five victories on its way to a 163 point lead after day one at the 2005 Mutual of Omaha Invitational.
The Mavericks started off strong when the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Katey Howarter, Jessica Hessel, Bridgette Schram and Lisa Wemhoff edged South Dakota to win the first event of the finals session.
The Mavericks won four individual events including senior Ashley Renshaw victory at the 100 yard breaststroke(1:06.28), junior Lisa Wemhoff in the 50 yard freestyle(:24.54), sophomore Jessica Hessel in the 100 yard butterfly(:58.58) and freshman Lindsey Kline in the 200 yard freestyle(1:56.33).
The Mavericks will conclude the two-day event tomorrow with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m, followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
