Two Mavericks Win Titles at Doane Invite

CRETE, NEB.--Foluso Makinde and Kellie Ryan each won event titles at the Fred Beile Classic, hosted by Doane College on Saturday.
Makinde improved her season-high in the long jump by 2 1/4 inches with a leap of 19-05 1/4.
Ryan won the mile run in a time of 5:19.62.
Nebraska-Omaha had second place finishes from Rebekah Hughes (200 meter dash), Magda Orzylowski (400 meter dash), Taira Baker (long jump) and Ramona Zephier (triple jump).
Third place finishers were Jennifer Victor (800 meters), Sarah Zeisler (1000 meters) and Tahnee Tuenge (3000 meters).
