UNO Qualifies 7 Individuals for NCAA National Meet

The Nebraska-Omaha women's indoor track and field team qualified seven individuals for the 2005 NCAA Division II National Indoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for March 11-12 in Boston.
Qualifying for the Mavericks were Anastasia Kyvelidou, Debbie Akerly, Laverne Monger, Magda Orzylowski, Rebekah Hughes, Ashley Freeman and Foluso Makinde.
Kyvelidou and Akerly both automatically qualified in the long jump, triple jump and 60-meter hurdles. Akerly will also serve as an alternate in the 4x400 relay.
Orzlowski, Hughes, Freeman and Monger make up the 4x400 relay team. Monger also qualified in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
Makinde, who placed ninth at the 2004 nationals in the long jump, is making her second trip to the indoor national meet as a long jumper.
