Herrera, Mavericks 1st in JV Meet

HASTINGS, NEB. -- Lindsey Herrera won a playoff for first place Friday to lead the Maverick junior varsity team to a first-place finish in a tournament at Southern Hills Country Club.
Herrera fired an 80 and tied Lori Wurdeman of Midland Lutheran College and then won the playoff for the individual title. UNO shot 335 as a team to Dodge County Communicty College's 351 and a 357 by Hastings College.
Carly Froehlich tied for third place with an 83 and Amber Dodge, Lynn Mulligan and Kate O'Dea each shot an 86. Mallory Polodna shot a 91 for UNO.
The Maverick varsity team will compete Saturday in the Augustana College Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D., at Prairie Green Golf Course.
