Makinde Wins Long Jump at D-II Challenge

EMPORIA, KS -- Foluso Makinde captured the long jump title guiding the UNO track and field team to a fifth place team finish at the Godfather's D-II Challenge on Saturday.
Makinde had a leap of 19-10 1/4 in the long jump and also finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.41. Teammate Laverne Monger finished third in race with a sprint of 12.37.
Kellie Ryan finished second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:34.
UNO finished the 16-team meet with 86 points. Nebraska-Kearney captured the team title with 116.5 points.
