Mavs Falter, Drop to 8th

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Tanis Hastmann fired a five-over-par 78 Thursday and Amanda Stock shot a 79, but it wasn't enough to keep the Mavericks from slipping into eighth place at the half-way point of the NCAA II women's golf championship.
UNO will tee off beginning at 9:10 a.m. CDT Friday in the third round at the par-73, 6,069-yard The Championship Course.
Two-time defending champion Rollins holds a six-shot lead over Grand Valley State after shooting a four-under 288 team total Thursday. UNO shot 333 as a team and stands at 655.
Hastmann, a senior from Winnipeg, Man., is tied for 15th at 155, while Stock moved up to a tie for 25th at 160. Charlotte Campbell of Rollins shot even-par 73 Thursday for a 145 total, one under par, and leads the tournament.
The other UNO scores Thursday included 88s by Mandy Houtz and Sarah Wolfe and an 89 by Carly Froehlich. wolfe is at 178, Houtz 172 and Froehlich 169 for the tournament.
