NCC Awards Go to Ethan Anderson, Bob Danenhauer

The North Central Conference will honor former director of athletics Bob Danenhauer and longtime volunteer Ethan Anderson for their service to Maverick Athletics and the conference. The awards will be presented at the NCC Honor Award Dinner on Monday, May 23 at the Arrowwood Resort in Okoboji, Iowa.
Danenhauer, who served as UNO's athletic director from 1997-2004, will receive the NCC Honor Award. The award is given to those who heighten the integrity of the NCC. Marge Burkett, former volleyball coach at Minnesota State, Mankato, will also receive the NCC Honor Award.
Anderson will receive the Noel Olson Volunteer of the Year Award. He has served as a volunteer for the sports information department for over 25 years, covering over 700 athletic events without compensation. He has been the official statistician for football and men's and women's basketball for the past 10 years.
The awards are voted on by the league's institutional representatives.
Others who will receive the Noel Olson award include Russ Burfening, official timer at North Dakota sporting events for over 30 years; Thomas Knutson, official scorer at Minnesota Duluth hockey games since 1969, and Bob and Janice Westphal, Minnesota State, who have volunteered at a variety of athletic events for more than 20 years.
