Mavs Finish 11th at NCAA Championships

The Nebraska-Omaha women's track and field team finished in a tie for 11th place at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday evening.
UNO totaled 23 team points in the 55-team meet and tallied one point on the final day of competition with Anastasia Kyvelidou's eighth place finish in the triple jump (39-0 1/2). Teammates Taira Baker and Debbie Akerly also participated in the triple jump and finished 14th (38-4 3/4) and 17th (37-10 3/4), respectively.
Kyvelidou, who captured the meet's heptathlon title on Friday, also took part in the javelin throw Saturday but her throw of 121-8 finished 17th.
Lincoln University of Missouri captured its third-straight NCAA II outdoor championship with 108 points.
