UNO 2nd in Final Directors' Cup

Buoyed by top 11 finishes in four spring sports, the Mavericks vaulted into second place in the final Sports Academy Directors' Cup Division II standings, marking the highest finish ever by UNO. Grand Valley State won the Cup for a second straight year with 801 total points to 607 by the Mavericks.
The Sports Academy Directors' Cup is presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), United States Sports Academy and USA TODAY to the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country.
The year-long competition is based on points earned through the national finish of each men's and women's sport.
Reaching the top five for the first time, UNO won the national title in wrestling and placed third in women's soccer, fifth in women's indoor track and field, seventh in women's golf, ninth in baseball and women's swimming and tennis, 17th in women's volleyball and 33rd in softball and men's basketball.
UNO teams in 2004-05 captured seven North Central Conference titles and won the NCC women's all-sports title.
