Bob Flannery Named Assistant AD for Marketing

Bob Flannery will bring a background of over 10 years' experience in minor league professional baseball with him when he joins the Maverick staff as the assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions.
University of Nebraska at Omaha Athletic Director David Herbster said today that Flannery will begin his UNO duties July 11.
Flannery has spent the past three years as marketing coordinator and assistant general manager of the Midland, Tex., RockHounds Class A baseball team and the Odessa, Tex., Jackalopes hockey team. His other experience includes stints as the general manager of the New Haven Ravens (2000-01) and the Columbus, Ga., RedStixx (1998-2000). He also worked with the RockHounds in various capacities from 1995-98.
Following his graduation from Massachusetts-Amherst in 1990, Flannery worked from 1990-95 at Nichols, Mass., College where he was the head baseball coach and the sports information director.
"We are fortunate to be able to add Bob's extensive sports marketing and administration experience to our staff," Herbster said. "I think that his experience and his understanding of athletics will enable him to make an immediate impact."
