Mavs Face Busy Weekend

The Mavericks will compete in the one-day, 18-hole Wayne State Invitational at Wayne Country Club on Friday, Sept. 16 at noon, and in the two-day, 54-hole Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bear Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Brooks Golf Club in Okoboji, Iowa. The Mavs will play 36 holes at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with the final 18 holes set for an 8:30 a.m. start Sunday. A total of 11 teams will be entered in the Golden Bear Invitational.
Last Week: Mavs Defeat Missouri Western State
Mandy Houtz overcame 25-mile per hour winds to shoot an 84 Sept. 10 to lead the Mavericks to a dual meet win over Missouri Western State at Arbor Links Golf Club in Nebraska City. The Mavs shot a 355 total to the Griffons' 363 over the Arnold Palmer-designed layout. Other UNO scores included Lindsay Newton, 87; Kate O'Dea 90 and Amanda Stock and Allyson Yung 94. Four Mavs competed as individuals. Sara Wolfe and Amber Dodge each shot 92, Lynn Mulligan 96 and Carly Froehlich 104. Lisa Cross of Missouri Western won medalist honors with an 82.
The Lineups
UNO will send Amber Dodge, Carly Froehlich, Lynn Mulligan and Sara Wolfe to the Wayne State meet. Mandy Houtz, Lindsay Newton, Kate O'Dea, Amanda Stock and Allyson Yung will compete in the Golden Bear Invitational.
On Deck
The Mavericks will travel to Marshall, Minn., to compete in the Southwest Minnesota State Invitational at the Marshall Country Club on Sept. 24-25.
