Relay Team Sets School Record at Adidas Classic

LINCOLN, Neb.--Nebraska-Omaha won the 4x400 relay title and set a school record in the process in the Adidas Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
The team on Karin Clarkson, Rebekah Hughes, Magda Orzylowski and Laverne Monger captured the race with a time of 3:45.39, which is an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA II national meet. Other schools competing in the race were Nebraska-Lincoln, Iowa State, Drake, Air Force and South Dakota.
The Mavs also won four titles at the Ward Haylett Invite, hosted by Doane College on Saturday. Foluso Makinde won titles in both the long jump (19-6 1/4) and the triple jump (38-4). Angela Kampschnieder won the 800 meter run (2:23.10) and Sarah Zeisler took first place in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:05.07.
