Makinde Wins Triple Jump at Iowa State Open

AMES, Iowa--Nebraska-Omaha's Foluso Makinde captured the triple jump title and the team also had four other top three finishes during the second day of the Iowa State Open on Saturday.
Makinde had a leap of 38-2 1/4 to win the triple jump. Debbie Akerly placed third in the same event with a mark of 37-3 1/4.
The Mavs' Molly Belling and Laverne Monger finished second and third, respectively, in the 60 meter dash with times of 7.64 and 7.69.
Sarah Zeisler also finished third in the mile run with a time of 5:04.71.
