Victor, Makinde Capture Wins at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Foluso Makinde and Jennifer Victor each won events Friday to lead the Mavericks in the Kansas State Invitational. The Mavs recorded five second-place finishes and three thirds in the meet, which had no team scoring.
Makinde won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 11 1/4 inches and also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 36-6 3/4. Victor won the 800 meter run with a time fo 2:20.73.
Other second-place finishes: Debbie Akerly, 60 hurdles, 9.45 seconds; Sarah Zeisler, 1000 meters, 3:05.01; Kaylen Harris, 3000 meters, 10:55.01; Becky Hughes, 200 meters, 26.65.
Third place finishes: Magda Orzylowski, 200 meters, 26.91; Kellie Ryan, mile run, 5:19.34; Allison Gorman, 3000 meters, 11:05.67.
UNO's next action will be Jan. 13-14 in the Nebraska-Lincoln Holiday Inn Classic.
