Mavs Fall to Iowa State

AMES, Iowa - The Maverick swimming and diving team earned a weekend split after dropping a 274-188 dual to Iowa State on Saturday.
The dual between the Cyclones and the Mavericks was unique in the fact that the meet consisted of only 8 events.
The Mavericks top individual performance came from sophomore Janel Lawonn in the diving half of the competition. Lawonn placed third at the both the 1 meter event (218.70) and the 3 meter event (225.82).
Senior Lisa Wemhoff placed third at the 100 yard freestyle event (55.18) and freshman Carly Lehman placed third at the 500 yard freestyle event (5:22.92), giving the Mavericks its only two top three individual finishes on the afternoon.
The Mavericks will return to action next Friday at 6 p.m. against Nebraska-Kearney at HPER Pool.
