3 Players, Coach Earn All-NCC Honors

Three golfers from the Mavericks' North Central Conference champions as well as coach Tim Nelson have earned all-NCC first and second team honors. The squad includes juniors Lynn Mulligan and Lindsay Newton on the first team and freshman Erin Ommen on the second team.
Nelson, in his fourth year as the head coach, earned coach of the year honors for a second time. He also won that award in 2003 when he led the team to a league title.
Newton finished in a tie for first place and lost a one-hole playoff for the individual title in the NCC meet in Sioux Falls. Mulligan finished three shots back in third place, while Ommen finished in a tie for seventh.

The Mavericks also have announced their spring, 2007 schedule. UNO will begin the spring season during its spring break March 14-15 at a yeat-to-be-determined location. The first official tournament will be March 25-26 in St. Joseph, Mo.
UNO will host the Ironwood Collegiate Classic April 15-16 at Ironwood Country Club as part of the spring slate.
