Chastain, Mavericks to Host Soccer Clinic March 7

Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Brandi Chastain and the NCAA Division II champion Mavericks will team up to host a free soccer clinic Tuesday, March 7 at Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse.
Chastain will also be the featured speaker at the Diet Pepsi/UNO Women's Walk Kick-Off Luncheon on March 8.
The clinic is free for soccer players of all ages, however tickets must be obtained in advance at any of three locations: The UNO Athletic Ticket Office in the Fieldhouse; Lawlor's Custom Sportswear, Westroads location, or Soccer Internationale, 132nd and Center Streets. All those attending must have a ticket to be admitted.
The March 7 event will begin at 5:30 with the UNO/USA Soccer Experience. Various activities will be offered including kicking and dribbling and there will be an opportunity to have photographs taken with the NCAA II Championship Trophy and an autograph session with the Maverick players. Chastain will also be available on a limited basis for autographs.
The clinic will be from 6:30-8 p.m. and will feature Chastain in addition to the national champion Mavericks and national NCAA II women's coach of the year Don Klosterman.
Free parking will be available on the UNO South Campus, 67th and Pacific Streets, with free shuttle service to Sapp Fieldhouse. On-campus parking will be limited.
Tickets for the March 8 Kick-Off Luncheon at 11:130 a.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel Downtown are $55 per person and may be reserved by phoning 554-2533.
