Renshaw Breaks Record at NCC Championships

Grand Forks, N.D. -- Senior Ashley Renshaw broke the conference record for the 200 individual medley to spur the Mavericks as they took over second place on Day two of the NCC Championships.
Renshaw broke the record set in 2003 by Sarah Richmire of North Dakota. Her winning time (2:05.87)also automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships, next month in Indianapolis, IN.
The Mavericks end the second day of competition with 227 points,trailing only North Dakota (337.5)
Freshman Lindsey Kline earned a second place finish at the 500 freestyle event, while senior Jamie Grogan placed second in the Women's 3 Meter Diving event.
The Mavericks team of Renshaw, Kline, Sarah Donley and Courtney Peterson took second in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.30. In the nights other relay event, the team of Beth Roach, Renshaw, Jessica Hessel and Lisa Wemhoff took home third place in the 200 medley relay. Each time qualifies as an A-Cut performance.
On the Men's side, North Dakota hold s a 387-190 lead over Minnesota State, Mankato.
The NCC Championships will resume tomorrow morning with preliminaries beginning at 10:30, with the finals starting at 6 p.m.
