Mavs Sending 7 to Boston for NCAA Championships

The Nebraska-Omaha track team will send seven athletes to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston, Mass., this weekend, held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.
Laverne Monger heads the Maverick field, qualifying in three events (4x400 relay, 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash). Molly Belling will join Monger in the 60 and 200 meter races. Karin Clarkson is the other Maverick who will participate in two events (400-meter run, 4x400 relay). Magda Orzylowski and Rebekah Hughes will partake in the 4x400 relay, with Lisa Lane as an alternate. Foluso Makinde, the 2005 national champion in the long jump at last year's NCAA Championships, will try and defend her title.
The Mavericks had their best finish in program history at last year's NCAA meet with a fifth place finish.
