Drake Relays Next Step for Mavs

The Nebraska-Omaha women's track and field team will compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend. UNO will depart Thursday and compete in numerous events on Friday and Saturday. Results and schedules of the meet can be found at www.drakerelays.com
Last action: The Nebraska-Omaha women's track and field team picked up four titles and had 13 top 3 finishes at the Doane Relays last weekend. Karin Clarkson won the 200-meter dash with sprint of 25.32. Sarah Zeisler captured the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:45. UNO's 4x400 team of Clarkson, Lisa Lane, Jennifer Victor and Angela Kampschnieder finished first with a time of 3:50. The 4x800 team of Victor, Sarah Zeisler, Kellie Mertes and Tahnee Tuenge also took first place honors (9:21). Second-place finishes: Kaylen Harris, 5000-meter run, 18:54; Lisa Lane, 100-meter hurdles, 14.89 seconds; Ashley Yates, long jump, 17-07 1/4. Third place finishes: Kellie Mertes, 1500-meter run, 4.46; Julie Gass, 400-meter hurdles, 1:06; Angela Kampschnieder, 200-meters dash, 26.80 seconds, Julie Gass, long jump, 14-04 3/4; Kelly Hollman, triple jump, 36-08 1/2.
