Mavericks Host Ironwood Classic

The Mavericks will host the eight-team Ironwood Collegiate Classic Friday and Saturday at the Ironwood Country Club, 126th and Pacific Streets, in their only home appearance of the spring season. Tee times will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
UNO has won the meet the past three years and will have two teams entered in the meet, which also includes South Dakota, North Dakota, Truman State, Missouri Western, Augustana and Minnesota State, Mankato.
The Mavericks are coming off their first tournament win of the spring season, a two-shot victory in the USD Invitational. Mandy Houtz, a senior from Manhattan, Kan., tied for first in that tournament and lost on the fifth extra hole for her best finish of the 2005-06 season.
