UNO Places 3 on NCC-All Academic Team

The North Central Conference announced its women's All-Academic Track and Field/Cross Country team on Tuesday. UNO's Debbie Akerly, Foluso Makinde and Kellie Ryan were the three Mavericks selected to the team.
Makinde, a senior from Ibadan, Nigeria, is a repeat selection to the conference academic team. The two-time long jump NCAA national champion has a 3.663 grade point average in Accounting.
Akerly, a senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earned honorable mention in 2005 to the academic squad. She earned All-American honors in the NCAA heptathlon last season by placing fifth. She has a 3.456 grade point average in Pre-medicine.
Ryan, a senior from Plattsmouth, Neb., has a 3.888 grade point average in Psychology. She earned all-conference honors by placing ninth at the 2005 NCC Cross Country Championships.
