Mavericks Host USD Friday

The Mavericks will host South Dakota in their first action since turning the calendar over to 2007. The dual meet will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the UNO Health, Physical Education and Recreation Pool on the campus. UNO has been idle since winning the Mutual of Omaha Invitation title on Dec. 2. The home meet begins a stretch of three home duals in 15 days, leading up to the North Central Conference meet.
The Coach
Todd Samland, a 1984 UNO graduate, is in his 10th season as the head coach of the Maverick swimming and diving team. His 2004--05 squad captured the NCC title. Last year, UNO finished second in the NCC meet and sixth in the NCAA II national meet.
On Deck
UNO will host Nebraska on Friday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. in a dual meet before making its final home appearance of the season on Saturday, Jan. 27 vs. Northern Iowa in a 2
p.m. dual meet at the HPER Pool.
