Mavericks Claim 10 Events to Defeat Northern Iowa

The Mavericks won 10 events to close out their home schedule with a 183-163 triumph over Northern Iowa Saturday afternoon at the HPER Pool. UNO finished its regular season at 4-4 before competing in the North Central Conference meet Feb. 14-17.

UNO won the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay and eight different athletes won individual events in the meet.
Lindsey Kline won the 1000-yard freestyle; Ashley Barna the 200-yard freestyle; Jessica LaFave the 100-yard breaststroke; Beth Hempleman the 200-yard butterfly; Jessica Hessel the 50-yard freestyle; Katey Howarter the 100-yard freestyle; Carrie Murphy the 200-yard backstroke, and Lisa Wemhoff the 100-yard butterfly. In addition, Janel Lawonn earned the win in the one-meter diving event.
