Mavs Focus on Final NCC Meet

The final North Central Conference cross country meet will be the assignment this weekend for the Mavericks. The seven-team field will compete in the 6,000-meter event Saturday morning at 10 on the Pine Hill Golf Course in Carlton, Minn.
UNO, fifth last year, is coming off a strong performance in its last outing at the Tim Young Invitational in which senior Kaylen Harris captured the individual title. Harris ran a personal-best 22:27.67 in the race.
Harris finished ninth in last year's NCC meet, while teammate Tahnee Tuenge was 20th after her seventh-place showing in 2005.
North Dakota is the defending team champion in the meet, which also includes South Dakota, the 2005 champion, St. Cloud State, Minnesota State, Mankato, Augustana and Minnesota Duluth.
