Mavs in Third After Day 1 of NCC Golf Championship

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the North Central Conference Championships played Saturday at the par-72 Elmwood Golf Course. The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Monday, Oct. 8.
The Mavericks' total of 320 is 12 strokes off the pace of leader and host Augustana which shot a 308 on the day.
UNO was led by senior Sara Wolfe who shot a six-over 78 and is currently tied for fifth place in the individual race. Lynn Mulligan and Erin Ommen each shot 80 and are tied for 11th. Lindsay Newton's 82 is good for 15th. Abbey Weddle shot an 11-over 83 and is tied for 18th.
Sunday's second round will take place at Sioux Falls' par-72 Westward Ho Country Club. The Mavericks will begin play at 11 a.m.
