Hessel, Relay Teams Boost Mavs Into 4th

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Maverick relay teams placed fifth and seventh and Jessica Hessel was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle to highlight UNO's performance Friday in the Husker Invitational at the Devaney Natatorium. The Mavs moved into fourth place in the four-day meet.
Hessel recorded a time of 24.79 seconds in her event, behind Nebraska's Lynn Siemert, who was clocked in 24.15.
Lindsey Kline was 12th in the 500-yard freestyle event and Mav relay teams finished 13th and 16th in the 400-yard medley relay.
The team of Lisa Elworth, Cait Hopkins, Kristy Gmeiner and Hessel was fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 139.69 and the foursome of Adrienne Losee, Lindsey Miletta, Katey Howarter and Lucy Zamecnik was seventh in the event with a time of 1:41.45.
Action continues Saturday with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals starting at 2 p.m.
