
Prince Wins 2 Events at Wayne State Meet

LaCheryl Prince won both the long jump and the triple jump and Angela Kampschnieder finished third in the 600-yard dash Saturday to highlight Maverick performances in two track meets.
Prince, who competed for UNO for four years in basketball, won the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 11 inches and the triple jump with a mark of 38-8 1/4 at the Wildcat Open in Wayne, Neb. In addition, Jessica Purdy captured the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.65 seconds. Purdy was also third in the 200-meter dash.
Other highlight performances included a second by Ashley Freeman in the high jump and a pair of fourth-place finishes by Libby DiBiase in the 55-meyter dash and the 200. Kaeli Bixler was second in the shot put.
At the Iowa State Classic, Kampschnieder ran the 600-yard dash in a time of 1:24.59.
