Mavericks Solidly in Second Place at NCC Swim Meet

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota has built a commanding lead after the third day of competition at the 2007 North Central Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Nebraska-Omaha has solidified its hold on second place with several strong performances on Friday.
The Mavericks were paced on the day by two second-place finishes. Jessica Hessel was runnerup in the 100 butterfly (57.18). The 200 freestyle relay team of Bridget Schram, Katey Howarter, Hessel, and Lisa Wemhoff finished second in a time of 1:36.53.
Other notable performance by the Mavericks on Friday included:
Megan Guthmiller, Andrienne Losee, Jessica LaFave, Katey Howarter - 400 medley relay - 4:03.25 - 3rd Lindsey Kline - 200 freestyle - 1:54.71 - 4th
Carrie Murphy - 100 breaststroke - 1:08.02 - 4th
Adrienne Losee - 100 breaststroke - 1:08.73 - 5th
Beth Hemplemann - 400 individual medley - 4:40.82 - 5th
Jessica LaFave - 400 individual medley - 4:44.19 - 6th
Megan Guthmiller - 100 backstroke - 1:01.20 9th
The meet will conclude on Saturday at North Dakota's Hyslop Swimming Pool.
