Mavericks to Test Water at Nationals

The Mavericks will compete in the NCAA Division II swimming and diving chamnpionship met in Buffalo, N.Y., from Wednesday through Saturday. The Mavericks will have 10 competitors at the meet, trying to keep their string of top 10 finishes alive.
Last year, UNO was in sixth place, extended its streak to seven. It was the highest the Mavericks have ever finished at the NCAA Championships.
The Coach
Todd Samland, a 1984 UNO graduate, is in his 10th season as the head coach of the Maverick swimming and diving team. His 2004-05 squad captured the NCC title. UNO was second this year in the NCC meet and sixth last year in the nationals, its best finish ever.
