Mavericks Finish 12th in Florida Tournament

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- Kate O'Dea's 87 Tuesday led the Mavericks, who finished 12th in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at the par-72, 6,089-yard Tuscawilla Country Club. It was the opening tournament of the spring season for UNO, which shot a 358 Tuesday for a 1,033 total in the 54-hole event.
Defending NCAA II champion Rollins College captured the team title with a 910 total and Maria Garcia Austt of Nova Southeastern was the medalist with a one-under-par 215.
Lindsay Newton, who shot an 89 Tuesday, led the Mavericks with a tie for 52nd, shooting 253 for the event.
UNO's next assignment will be the Missouri Wesern Invitational March 25-26 in St. Joseph, Mo.
