Smith Earns NCC Track Honor

First-year head track coach Steve Smith has been named the North Central Conference women's indoor track and field coach of the year by a vote of the league's coaches.
Smith, who took over the program after Tim Hendricks retired in September, led the Mavericks to their first indoor team title in 26 years last month. UNO had seven champions in the meet.
The Mavericks' next assignment will be the NCAA Division II indoor meet in Boston this weekend.
