
Monger, Relay Team Set Records in Concordia Meet

SEWARD, Neb. -- The Mavericks gathered six victories, three provisional qualifying times and two meet records while making their first outdoor appearance of the season Saturday in the Concordia University Invitational.
LaVerne Monger, Molly Belling and Pinar Saka finished 1-2-3 in the 200-meter dash and Jessica Purdy was fourth. Monger broke her own meet record, with a 24.32 with Belling clocking a 24.35, both provisional qualifying times for the NCAA II outddor national meet in May.
The 4x100 relay team of Libby DiBiase, Belling, Saka and Monger also broke its own meet record with a time of 46.68 seconds, which was also a provisional qualifying time.
The other event winners included:
* Ashley Yates, with a 17-10.75 in the long jump
* Magda Orzylowski, who edged teammate Angela Kampschnieder in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:04.53 to Kampschnieder's 1:05.70
* Karin Clarkson with a 57.47 time in the 400-meter dash
* The 4x400 relay team of Orzylowski, Lisa Tesarek, Purdy and Kampschnieder, which posted a time of 3:59.41
In addition, Ashley Freeman was second in the high jump with a mark of 5-4, and Kaylen Harris was second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:31.87.
