
4x200 Relay Team Sets School Mark at KU Relays

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- UNO's 4x200-meter relay team of Molly Belling, Karin Clarkson, LaVerne Monger and Pinar Saka set a school record in finishing fourth to highlight Friday's Maverick performances in the Kansas Relays.
The relay team ran the event in a time of 1:37.56, shattering the 1998 school mark of 1:41.42.
The Mavericks also placed in two other relays. Mary Margaret Nelson, Kellie Mertes, Lisa Tesarek and Jessica Purdy finished fifth in the distance medley relay and Purdy, Tesarek, Angela Kampschnieder and Tahnee Tuenge were ninth in the 4x800.
Two other relay teams qualified for the finals. The 4x100 team was sixth and the 4x400 team was seventh.
Thursday night, Tuengee finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.79 and Kaylen Harris ran a personal-best 38:01.15 to finish sixth in the 10,000-meter race.
The meet continues through Saturday.
