Mavericks Fall Back to 5th

WATERLOO, Iowa -- Sara Wolfe shot UNO's best round of the day, but it wasn't enough to keep the Mavericks from sliding back into fifth place after 36 holes of the 54-hole NCAA Division II North Regional Golf Tournament Tuesday.
The Mavericks trail leader North Dakota by 27 shots heading into Wednesday's final round at the 5,946-yard, par-72 Sunnyside Country Club. UNO players will tee off at 8:39-9:15 a.m. Wednesday. The top two teams will advance to the NCAA II tournament later this month.
UNO shot a 346 Tuesday to go with a Monday round of 328 for a 674 total. North Dakota is at 647 and Truman State at 653.
Wolfe followed her opening-round 83 with a nine-over 81 Tuesday and is tied for ninth with a 164, two shots ahead of teammate Kate O'Dea, who slipped after an opening 79 and a tie for fourth to shoot 88 for a 166 total.
Upper Iowa's Rachael Schmidt followed her opening 73 with a three-over 75 to take a three-shot lead at 148 in the individual race.
